Study exchange is a merit-based opportunity.
Students are required to demonstrate academic readiness and preparedness for an international study experience. This includes:
- achieving the required academic standard
- participating in the application and selection process
- demonstrating motivation and readiness for study at a university home campus
Applications are assessed in accordance with published criteria and timelines.
Academic planning and support
DLI provides guidance to support students throughout the study exchange process, including:
- academic advice to support module selection and progression
- application guidance and timelines
- pre-departure preparation and briefing
- information on accommodation, visas and living arrangements
Students work with academic advisors to ensure their study exchange aligns with their degree requirements and progression.
Financial considerations
During study exchange:
- students remain enrolled at DLI and continue to pay DLI tuition fees
- additional costs may apply, including travel, accommodation, insurance and personal expenses
Indicative cost information is provided to support planning.
Your dual-degree outcome
Your study exchange does not change your degree outcome.
You will continue to complete a combined Deakin and Lancaster curriculum at DLI and, on successful completion, graduate with awards from both universities.
Plan your next steps
Detailed information on eligibility, application timelines and preparation will be available ahead of each application round.
